Africa Polityka i władza

we continue to argue about Russia and Ukraine, Israel and Hamas. Meanwhile, for many years, a dramatic food crisis has been affecting East Africa, the result of the combined effect of wars, droughts, floods, rising prices and the lasting consequences of the Covid pandemic. A storm that has brought millions of people to their knees whose survival depends on humanitarian aid which suffers from cuts from international donors and private solidarity attracted mostly by the war in Ukraine. In East Africa it is estimated that around 50 million people are affected by the crisis and in some areas over 300,000 are in conditions of extreme famine with dozens of starvation deaths per day. A situation similar to that of 2011 when 250,000 people died of hardship due to the world's indifference

This is a man-made crisis which requires a man-made response. This situation was due to the deterioration in global supply chains due to the war between Ukraine and Russia, which are among the most important grain producers in the world, and the deepening of the problems was seen as inevitable. Thus, some of the actos aimed to develop proactive policies in the face of crises, bore fruit through the “Grain Corridor”. Thanks to the said agreement, the export of 25 million tons of grain waiting in Ukrainian ports has been paved. According to this, the security of the passage of ships in the ports in question through the Black Sea and the Bosphorus will be ensured, and a common security center will be established in Istanbul in order not to sabotage the process by an actor. The agreement signed in Istanbul on July 22, 2022. In a span of time, 33 million tons of grain, globally distributed around the world and 12% of it arrived in Africa only. Yes, 12% only. Where the rest has gone to? Not to the places in need for sure. The World, yet another time, said that: " Africa terra?! hic sunt leones...." We are tend to feed our comfort zones first. Our comfort zones are the greediest monster ever, and in this very tale, people are dying.

Thank you for your very correct answer. Unfortunately the East African crisis began long before the war in Ukraine.
